Miguel Ángel Laguna-Bercero

Along the career he has specialized in ceramic processing (slip and tape casting, powder extrusion moulding, screen-printing, dip-coatintg, etc.) for the research on mainly materials for energy applications, including the fabrication of small devices. He has also specialized in laser assisted selective laser melting and machining of ceramic materials. He is focused on energy applications (Solid Oxide Fuel Cells, High Temperature Electrolysis, Solid State Batteries, Membranes, Photocalysis).

He is Guest Lecturer at Universidad de Zaragoza since 2011 (“Máster en Física y Tecnologías físicas” from 2011-2017, “European Master in Renewable Energy» in 2012 and “Interuniversity Master in Hydrogen Technologies” from 2021), and invited lecturer in 2013 and 2015 at Universidad Metropolitana de Ciencias de la Educación (UMCE, Santiago de Chile) and in 2018 at Universidad Tecnológica de Panamá. He has supervised 12 BSc, 6 MSc student projects and 2 PhD thesis (+4 ongoing). He has participated in 30 research projects in competitive tender process, 10 of them as principal investigator (PI), as well as 8 industrial contracts. He is coauthor of one licensed patent and one transfer of know-how with Saint-Gobain CREE. He has published about 80 indexed papers, 2 invited reviews, and he is currently editing one book on High Temperature Electrolysis (SpringerNature). He has been invited speaker in more than 20 conferences. He belongs to the Editorial board of the journals «Heliyon», «Coatings», «Gases», “Frontiers in Energy Research” and “Frontiers in Fuels”. He is coordinator (since 2021) of the research line SP2 Electrodes, and also Steering Committee member of JP: Hydrogen and Fuel Cells at EERA (European Energy Research Alliance). Since 2022, he has been appointed as Scientific Representative of the CSIC in the EERA JP HFC.
